Incorrect Depreciation Calculation for transaction type 331

Postby bahetiumesh » Fri Aug 06, 2010 12:51 pm

Hello all,

SAP System posted one positive amount (using transaction type 336) and one negative amount (using transaction type 331) onto few of the assets after CJ88 Settlement run. When the depreciation run took place, SAP calculated correct depreciation for the Positive amount (acquisition corresponding to the transaction type 336) but SAP calculated the negative depreciation (i.e. appreciation) for the negative posting corresponding to the transaction type 331. Please see an example below :-

Asset Line item tran. type Gross Book Value Depreciation Net book value
A1 1 336 79,193.00 -3,519.69 75673.31
A1 2 331 -7,531.00 7,531.00 0
Net Book Value 71662.00 4011.31 75673.31

Apparently it looks like that depreciation is getting added to the gross book value. Rather than getting decreased, our net book value is increasing.

Can you take a look at it and provide some inputs ?

Regards,
Umesh
