FI-SL insert new field into the existing FI-SL table

my company has already activated FI-SL and there is productive data in the FI-SL table, now we need to active CO-PCA, and we need to add the profit center field into the FI-SL existing table(summary table, line item table, object table...), so how can i add a new field into the existing FI-SL table?
use GCIN to 'Rework definition and installation', in GCIN i can add the profit center to the Object table 1 and the profit center field will appear in the Summary table, Actual line item table and Plan line items table. after doing this, what other step should i do? should i re-run"table group installation"?
my other question is: as we already have productive data in the FI-SL module, if i add a new field into the FI-SL existing table does it will affect my system data(missing data or damage the current data)?
