Open/Close periods in PCA

Post by epifaphi » Tue Feb 03, 2009 6:04 am

Dear all,

We do Balance Sheet and P+L statements in PCA, and Finance department wants to close PCA periods for manual corrections after period close (similar to FI). How it can be solved? There are no customizing in PCA for posting periods. I've also tried to close periods in FI-SL, but it has no effect on PCA documents.

Hello,

You need to use OKP1 and lock the CO period or lock few business transactions only, like Repost CO line items, Repost costs,etc....

Hello Svetlana,

OKP1 locks only CO postings and has no effect on PCA. Technically, EC-PCA more close to FI-SL component than to CO.

ok, try with S_ALR_87004395 but the lock seems to be year dependant...

Yep. I've tried this one. It has no effect on PCA postings. But this can be the part of my backup plan ;-)) I've found that FI-SL validations work for PCA docs. So, period check itself could be done via validation. And table of open/closed periods can be maintained via GCP1. Not very beautiful, but should work.

Actually, I'm surprised that SAP doesn't offer period close inside of PCA, 'cause this module positioned as alternative tool for Balance Sheet and P+L statements by Profit Center. Just can't imagine legal statements with allowed backdated adjustments ;-)

Hi epifaphi,

In fact, validation rule seems to be the only solution. You can have a look to OSS note 436384 and related (836218 and 123587) for more details.

Best regards

Thanks Laurent. I hope, standard correction would be enough for us.
