Development Class creation is BASIS responsibility or ABAP responsibility? Depends on whether your SAP project is on development or maintenance phase of the project life-cycle. If it's on the development & implementation phase, it should be placed on the BASIS responsibility since you want to conto...

Hi Jo, AND... according to page 739 of the SAP R/3 Handbook, "scheduling RSPO0041 is a convenient way for a background job to remove and reorganize log files". I though you're running the program RSTS0030 and the other TemSe reports ... Yes, the report RSPO0041 is one of the standard SAP jobs that h...

Why do you need to have a different path for /oracle/client/92x_64? For /usr/sap/trans, you can change the value in the instance profile and on the tp profile (search this dicussion group on the DIR_TRANS, DIR_EPS_ROOT instance parameters & TRANS_DIR tp profile parameter to get more info on this) .....

Hi Snowy, Yes, you wouldn't need the kit as you only need the migration key -- same as for lower versions of SAP. (Have tried it on SAP release 2.1, 3.0, 4.6 on Oracle & Informix databases for SAP R/3 ... Six months ago, our team tried the method on SAP EM running on 620 ... we're going to try this ...

Hi Jo, I schedule a weekly job to do this check and delete "bad" and obsolete TemSe objects. Do you mean reorg (of the obsolete TemSe) or consistency check? You're aware that SAP doesn't recommend scheduling the reorg of the Temse objects due to possible consistency problems/issues that might happen...

Not to sure about the setting up of the transport system, but if you do want to transport from PRD to DEV, you may need to set up a transport route/layer to be able to do so. Maybe somebody can explain it a bit more clear You can do this but I suggest you not to. Since you'll only be doing it one t...

Things to take note: First, if you go to 64-bit kernel you have to recompile your ABAP codes (transaction SGEN) since the original "p-code" (ABAP compiled codes) will become invalid. Second, if you go to 64-bit kernel you have to adjust your instance profile and system parameters for this. Use SAP N...

Depends on how many domain controller files you have in your DIR_TRANS/bin directory. Also if there are different entries in your TPPARAM & TMS profiles.

The locking mechanism described here is the internal locking mechanism between work processes (e.g. dispatcher, enqueue, spool, etc). Somehow it's failing as described in this post but can be due to a number of r...
