Re: Skipped material number (ranges)

On another thought, would resetting the index back to a starting number fill in the gaps automatically?

Re: Skipped material number (ranges)

Danke Svetja! Setting the buffer to 1 doesn't cause issues? We have only one person creating materials, so I suppose the risk could be low.

Do you happen to know any other details on the user exit? Like the name, or any other documentation?

Skipped material number (ranges)

One of our material types is assigned to a number range 500000-599999. This seemed like a lot 12 years ago, but now our supply of available material numbers is dwindling. One reason for this is that numbers are skipped when new materials were created. Not only numbers, whole ranges! We are now at ~5...

You are my hero. Yes, Help Texts did the trick. This lets you also remove unused entries for a cleaner look-up list. Thank you for your time!

Re: New movement types not showing in MB1A

Thanks HT. But... already did that. And they do run fine via MB1A. They are just not listed in the dropdown box/search help/whatever it is called. Is there a remedy for that?

New movement types not showing in MB1A

Hey all, I created some new movement types. Some I copied from standard SAP movement types, others from custom movement types. They all work fine in MB1A, however, only the former show up in the dropdown of movement types on the selection screen. Does anyone know if / where there is a setting to pop...

Re: Block PIRs for certain periods

I was just pondering - maybe all that is needed is a report that runs existing PIRs against a custom table and throws up alerts. Much easier than messing around with custom code in MD61.

Re: Block PIRs for certain periods

We do Gross Requirements Planning with PIRs (Planned Independent Requirements). Sales orders come into play later (too late). I guess you are right, custom code would be needed. I thought there might be something available in the MD61 world. Thanks again!

Block PIRs for certain periods

Hello fellow Sappers, We use PIRs to produce materials throughout the year. They are entered in weekly buckets, and via production versions and routings we create our production plan. We would like to be able to BLOCK certain materials from being able to be sold in certain weeks. For example, materi...

Re: Using specific group counter during CO15 confirmation

This is something requested by our costing dudes, I am not too familiar with postings and such so that might explain why I can't bring this across. Here is what they explained me: We use different lead times for the different group counters. The "costing" group counter is a weighted average of those...

Re: Using specific group counter during CO15 confirmation

Hmmm. But that would affect MRP... We use group counters to back off production, so group counter 1 might represent 3 weeks, 2 is 4 weeks, etc. Now the group counter used by costing would be say 1 day for some reason, and when confirming, the postings should be made accordingly. However, if I do tha...

Re: Using specific group counter during CO15 confirmation

The costing folks want that for the purpose of GL postings and such, not just a report.

Re: Using specific group counter during CO15 confirmation

Thanks for the reply. Good point. But even though CO15 is at header level, isn't it still specific to a routing group counter? Obviously I am a bit lost... Business purpose is costing. We don't settle production orders, and the costing folks want to get some information that is assigned to a "costin...

Using specific group counter during CO15 confirmation

We confirm production orders using CO15. Is it possible to set this up (substitution rule? user exit?) that confirmations are carried out using a particular routing group counter (say 0) instead of whatever group counter comes over from the production order?

Thank you!
