Re: DR server replacement

Oracle 11g Data Guard supports heterogeneous processor architectures & operating systems (couldn't get the metalink). However, SAP Note 592393 seems to disagree: Excerpt from the note: =========================================================================== 15. Between which operating systems are...

Re: Declining performance remote - why?

You have not given your RDBMS. Ask your Basis to compute / update statistics for the table and the indexes. While I do not recommend creating a new index to suit your query, you can discuss with Basis and identify suitable existing index which will help get your data quickly and then tailor your que...

Re: ST22 - Organizational Question

I'd say, ABAP dumps can be broadly classified into three: System Errors Program Errors Time Outs System Errors & Program Errors have to be addressed by SAP Technical Team. There is little point in assigning the responsibility to business user. Time outs can be discussed with user and strategy be dev...

Re: Very large DB copy. Statisctics needed?

ML,

Yes, statistics are needed for R3load export & import. I did encounter long runtimes in a BW system years ago. This is especially true when you use brconnect "-f collect".

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate Network error with sapgui

What is the OS of working PC? Is OS license installed? I would not copy binaries of one application to another machine. This would mess up the registry & new fangled program security features. I'd use a proper installer. I am not a Microsoft person and don't know what versions of desktop OS SAPgui s...

Re: Windows 7 Ultimate Network error with sapgui

Go to a system where your login is working. Select your System from SAPGUI, click on Change Item
Click on Network Tab > Note down the details.
Click on Code Page Tab > Note down the details

Come back to machine where your login is not working. Setup the parameters. Login again.

I drank tequila in one room and entered another sober room. Suddenly exotic ladies flowed by, offering olives and other related paraphernalia. I confess I did not eat cookies (a.k.a biscuits) in the first room. Smell, my friend, smell gives you away. I think web browsers work in similar way. Cheers,...

Re: brarchive - disk archive issue

Not sure if I completely understood your problem, but let me try. What I did understand is this: Your oraarch directory in in a filesystem, let's call it filesystem0, that has sufficient space for the log files created between two runs of brarchive. By brarchive the log files are copied to let's sa...

Re: brarchive - disk archive issue

How about shell script that moves/ftp's archived redolog files to a different location?

Run it as cron job every hour.

Oracle Tablespaces have NOLOGGING option. Any segment in that tablespace will not generate redologs. SAP may not support it.

Re: Bored

Speaking of being bored and Russia got me thinking.

If you were to be bombarded with a football field size meteorite and you only have 10 minutes, what would you do?

Posting "Can you count" on SAPFANS or performing that last BASIS transport does not count.
