The most typical item is Retained Earnings - Current Year to the item for Retained Earnings - Prior Years. That is of course if there are two separate items instead of one single Retained Earnings item.

To balance the balance sheet, it is necessary each period to post net income to retained earnings.

This is accomplished via one-sided reclassification for posting level 00.

I have the answer. The BCS virtual infocube for reporting has logic that reads the accounting technique assignments to determine what to include and exclude for this.

Cons of Investment & Equity Holdings

I am uncertain about how Cons of Investment and BCS reporting handles Equity held (minority) entities. It is my understanding that instead of including all of the line items as with majority owned entities, the equity held entities are only accounted for with the Investment and proportional share of...

You do not necessarily need to include SGD in the parameters for executing the consolidations for group currency AUD. However if you do not do so, the CG1 group will be consolidated for group currency AUD along with the SGD group. If you do not need CG1 with group currency AUD, my advice is to inclu...

The reclassification should be one-sided and for posting level 00 only (layout 07550). The first step is to select all Balance Sheet and Income Statement items, excluding the Income clearing and balance sheet clearing (current year RE). Any difference represents an out of balance source ledger and s...

In BW-based BCS there is no need for a different version for each group currency, although this is an option. The key with multiple group currencies is to execute every task, including data collection, separately for each group currency set in the parameters. This provides the complete consolidation...

Must the update mode be Delete All? If you use update modes Delete Changed Ones or Overwrite the opening balance records can be excluded from the flat file and the opening balance values will remain in the database.
