Re: Compare frequency

I go for daily too. If it's a 24h operation (or countries in different time zones) then I'll sometimes split batches to make sure that there is minimal interference.

Re: Roles for SAP security administrator

Hi, There isn't a comprehensive list as it depends on a few things including: Roles & resps of admin team Size of admin team Segregation of Duties between administrators Production system setup (e.g. if you have CUA then you will have additional tx to a system that doesn't). Risk appetite/control ma...

Re: How to open table for maintenance in production

Hi,

I recommend that you go through a developer to fix this through SE11. The table delivery class and the table/view maintenance settings control the ability to directly update the table.

Re: Help Me Please about authorization document type

Hi, Raise a ticket/email your Security team (and if you don't have one of them then your Basis team) and tell them the transaction (S_ALR_12999) & the data selections you were entering. run the transaction again and when you get the error message, run transaction SU53 and attach the output to the ti...

Re: Finding out removed tcode from a role

Hi, The change history is in SUIM - SUIM -> Change Documents -> For Roles. That will show you who has added/removed transactions etc. You may need to run it in the source system for the role (i.e. the one it is developed in rather than production). Is it a standalone single role or a child role in p...

Re: Maintaining Field Values - is it possible to exclude a range

Hi Rob,

You can't set up any "exclude" rules.

An exception to that is in BW using analysis auths.

Re: SCC8 Auth check S_TABU_DIS

Hi, The whole client copy/export/import function needs to have a reasonably high level of control around it hence the 02/SS auths. If you think about the volumes of data that support some of the client export options you can see how having for most activities in this area. While you are not changing...

Re: BASIS to Security Career Advice

there is less money in Security compared to Basis. but you should work more regular hours with Security. this move is feasible.... But I find Security less interesting than Basis. The money is dependent on the market you are in. In the UK it's reasonably similar between the two disciplines. Ravman ...

Re: Authorisations in BI Custom user exit

Hi, If designed properly it can work very well and is a good way to reduce admin effort in the longer term. My team and I have used auth variables in a few ways in the past: - providing access to dynamic data like HR objects - granting access based on attributes on financial document content driven ...

Camtasia Studio is great for this. I've heard that MS Expression Encoder is also pretty good but I've not used it myself

Have you run an auth trace (ST01) to see if there are any failures?

Re: Rloe Creation in the SAP template process

Hi, Most templates will have a provision for localisations. If they haven't done this then you need to make sure that they do. Generally they do what you have suggested - allow local roles to be created in a local namespace (e.g. country prefix). One word of caution I would advise is that local role...
