Fixed asset year end missed

Already did a search on this topic and I am afraid I might know the answer. Our organization has many company codes. One little-used company has one asset, and for some reason the depreciation and year-end rollover has been missed for the last 2 years. I believe we need to reopen the prior years, bo...

GL account field in BSEG

We are having to extract raw data from our BSEG table for audit purposes, and dump to a .txt file. I would like some explanation of the relationship, and the differences, between fields SAKNR (GL account) and HKONT (GL). If I check the technical explanation of the account number field in t-code FSS0...

Re: Making profit centre field mandatory

If profit center field is "optional" it will not be mandatory. So make sure profit center is required, not optional. Worst case, you will get a posting to "dummy" profit center which you will have to manually repost. Prior to ECC 5.0 (or actually even if classic PCA is configured in ECC 5.0 and 6.0 ...

Re: No cells problem in FI report design

Report Painter is pretty simplistic. To do what I think you want, you have to have the same formula in the whole row (or whole column). Not like Excel. Double click on the dot for a new row (or column), and select "Formula". Then define the formula just once, and it will apply to all cells in the ro...

Re: What is the difference between F-28 and F-30

Essentially, none. Both transactions call program SAPMF05A. They just place you at a different GUI spot and different screen. It's like posting a journal entry with FB50 or F-02 (which incidentally also use program SAPMF05A). Just a different screen presentation, and the opportunity to enter slightl...

Transport translation rate table

Instead of doing it the hard way (one line at a time) using OB08, is there an easy way to copy or transport the entire table of translation rate values from say DEV to QAS?

Canadian "Part XIII" withholding tax

My Canadian corporate client must start to deduct and remit Part XIII withholding tax on amounts paid to vendors and suppliers who are not Canadian residents. Any tips or tricks? Is this treated just as any other withholding tax?

Re: Planning Internal order with Cost Center

Cees, consider using a different dimension, say Functional Area, and apply it to cost elements. This usually applies to cost centers, but I have seen both ways used. In this case Salary, Wages, Overtime cost elements might be assigned to functional area Labour. You might have to write some new repor...

Re: Planning Internal order with Cost Center

The issue is that statistical orders NEVER settle to a real cost object, they are simply an additional flag when a real posting is made to a real cost object. When you create a statistical order, you can optionally specify the cost center for real postings. If not, you will be prompted for a real co...

Re: Report painter Issue in ECC 6.0

Usually in report development in RP, decimal representation is set in GR31 at Formatting > Report Layout, select Language-dependent tab. Decimal display is often set as "user-dependent", and the user defaults are set by the SAP support staff at a common default for a company or a country, when user ...

Depreciation on 5-4-4 weeks and 5-4-5 weeks

I did a search on this topic and came up with some other users with the same question, but no answers. scenario: the company defined its fiscal quarters as 5-4-4 weeks but occasionally needs 5-4-5 to make the year come out (almost) even. Rather than 12 "monthly" periods they would like to book depre...

Re: Zero balance line display in report painter

Phil I can't give a more technical explanation, maybe another reader can. Just my observation that net-zero balance resulting from postings does get displayed, while "blank" (i.e. no postings) does not. Are you sure there have been no postings, even Plan postings that have been reversed to zero? Als...

Re: Planning layout: period is not available

I'm guessing you created the report in a SAP-delivered library, with characteristics already pre-selected. If your required characteristics differ, you should create a custom library, enable the characteristics there, and build your report there. This is almost easier to do than to describe. T-code ...

Re: F110 - due date selection for payment

You might try changing the message F0397 to a Warning or Information instead of an Error, and just bypass it. Not sure if you can do this for batch-related messages.

Re: delele all transaction data

Ace111, this is a "feature" of SAP. As a matter of internal control, it is made difficult or impossible to delete transaction data from a production system. For audit purposes, the chief financial officer must have confidence that all transactions are retained forever. This is why you have t-codes t...
