Re: SQL command as string

You can code it dynamically like this: SELECT (column_syntax) FROM (dbtab_syntax) INTO target WHERE (sql_cond_syntax) Each of the variables in parenthesis is a character or string variable or a table containing the equivalent ABAP syntax. Check out the online help on SELECT - it also includes an exa...

Re: How to include PR creator name in PO subject line via email

In NACE go to "Output Types" then "Mail title and texts" and PF1 on the "Title" field. It says: Parameters have to be evaluated by a special program with form routine (Exception: System fields, such as SY-UNAME or SY-DATE). You specify the program and form routine in the correponding fields in the t...

Re: User exit for text determinaton in sales order item

Our sales order item short texts are very particular - basically an encoding of the major item characteristics from configuration. For what its worth we generate them in MV45AFZB / USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP.

You could also look at other candidates such as MV45AFZZ / USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP.

Re: Implicit Enhancement Missing

I can also see the 3 implicit enhancements on our 701 system, so no idea why its not working for you. Have you tried different editors (Utilities -> Settings; ABAP Editor; Editor; Front-End Editor (New) / Front-End Editor (Old) ) ? Tried going into Enhancement mode (spiral button) before displaying ...

Re: Hardcoding

Guys, check out SAP's new Business Rule Framework called BRFplus if you haven't already. It is freely available in NW 7.01 and above (with some functional limitations in 7.01, fully functional in 7.02 and up). Business Rules Framework plus - The Very Basics Old, but still a good intro. Business Rule...

Re: ABAP/SAP thinks my Z transparent table is a flat structure

1) The TABLES statement does not define an internal table, it defines a work area identical to the named dictionary structure. The TABLES statement is deprecated and should no longer be used. Your code uses its own work area WA_ZTUSSEN anyway so you can get rid of the TABLES statement altogether. 2)...

Re: Hardcoding

Great topic, YuriT ! I can empathise with Baz having been through a similar exercise myself in a previous lifetime. Amongst other tasks I recall having to write a program to dynamically scan hundreds of custom Z* tables looking for occurrences of the old company name. Anyway, consider a piece of cod...

Re: Enhancing SAP standard: class inheritance, method redefinitn

Just extending what Rich is saying, redefining a standard class method is generally not feasible. To do so you would need to change where the object is instantiated so that it instantiates as your custom sub-class instead of the standard super class. If SAP has provided an Enhancement Point or BADI ...

Re: What type is a hard-coded string?

If the literal is enclosed by 'single quotes' then it is of type C and the length of the specified characters. If the literal is enclosed by `back quotes` then it is of type STRING. This is described in the ABAP Glossary here . You can prove this by looking at the value and its type in the debugger ...

Re: Hardcoding

And what is the big difference between

Code: Select all

select * from t5ndk into table i_t5ndk where bunum eq c_init_bunum.
as opposed to

Code: Select all

select * from t5ndk into table i_t5ndk where bunum is initial

Re: how to delete output from sales order in create mode

I suspect output records are stored internally in program (function group) SAPLV61B in table XNAST or some such. See FMs MESSAGING and RV_MESSAGES_UPDATE. I don't know if it is possible to "delete" Output records after they have been determined (which you can avoid by using Output Determination Rout...

Re: How to check sales order status while saving the sales order

1) Yes. 2) Then you will need to find another way. However the first thing to do is try it and see if it works. 3) Using Output Requirement Routines as previously described should work - thats what they are there for. I am not sure what you mean by "triggered during the create mode of a sales order"...

Re: How to check sales order status while saving the sales order

1) Assuming the Sales Order statuses have already been updated in memory then you can retrieve them (both the system status and user status strings) from memory using FM STATUS_TEXT_EDIT. Pass it VBAK-OBJNR for the Sales Order header statuses and VBAP-OBJNR for the item statuses. 2) Outputs can be t...

Re: Determining maint. packages for a plan call

For what its worth here are a few likely tables taken from some ancient code we have lying around: MPLA - Maintenance Plan. MPOS - Maint Plan Item. PLWP - Task List / Maint Plan allocations, where PLNTY, PLNNR & PLNAL taken from MPOS. PLPO - Task List Operation Number, where PLNTY, PLNNR & PLNAL tak...
