Think about what you are trying to do... You are trying to save a file to a location that the SAP background task knows nothing about. Once you've finished thinking about that try using the search function and look at the frequently asked questions on here. Oh and it may help to check out the forum ...

Are you trying to do a call transaction inside the same transaction as you already have the data locked?

If you're using a user exit then you should be able to update the actual field inside the transaction simply by doing something like

Code: Select all

table-field1 = my_value.
or whatever!

Probably not. This to me is a good example of how using ABAP Objects or even function modules for data retrieval can be a benefit in the long run... If the person who originally developed the report had created data retrieval Class' or function modules you would have been able to concentrate on just...

Totally agree on the lack of documentation. Especially the kind of stuff to get you started. A lot of these things are kind of "dispersed", in the sense that you have to customise X here and Y there. This is totally different to what ABAPpers are generally used to. Maybe it's so SAP can sell more t...

Hi, I've had to do something similar and found the best place to perform these checks was at the end of the transaction in the USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE exit - that way the processing flow is a lot easier. Although, as Rosie has already suggested, my logic was based around using the standard in...

Isn't there some document management functionality in SAP? I'm using it currently on a CRM 4.0 system and I'm sure it existed in other versions of SAP but as I don't know too much about it this may not be the solution...

I used this a while ago - don't you have to perform the create of the order first, then do an update in change mode to add the text? I can't remember exactly though sorry.

Re: want to learn BADI

Hello, I am learning BADI. Can someone please explain what is its use. give some links. It will be very nice if someone can give me a link to a step by step link to a tutorial. can't find it in FAQ. I've spent the past 4 months teaching myself SAP ISA B2B (that's the Internet Sales component of SAP...

I'm not sure what you are actually trying to achieve?! BSP is an internet platform for displaying reports/transactions/etc. in a web browser... Are you wanting to perform mass updates via the BSP screens? If so, I would have thought there would be a much easier method by calling a BAPI/BDC on the un...
