Re: trn difference

do not force transports to be imported. you need to investigate first, find the cause and talk to the transport owner.

thanks.

Re: Steps to install SAP

Hi,

it depends on the Os and DB versions you are installing.

I would recommend SAP training before attempting to install SAP as it is not easy.

Re: Rolling Kernel Switch

I never had to use RKS. I don'T see the added value.

for me, stopping SAP, updating the kernel and start my SAP system takes less than 5 minutes of downtime when planned properly!

Re: Re-using material numbers

ok, I will say it:

bad idea!

best solutions:
1. extend your number range
2. add digits
3. choose a completely new number range.

easy to understand...

they have no respect to other's belongings.
but, they expect to get respect from others.

I call this egocentrism.

Re: BI 7.4 System Copy Dual Stack

Hi, backup and restore with Java stack is a bit complicated, but not impossible. I remember attending a conference back in 2009 which explained an unsupported way of doing this. I cannot find the documentation anymore... This being said, I would restore ABAP_JAVA on QAS, then use SAPINST to export P...

Re: Break-Ins

you can install Wi-Fi cameras that relays the "videos" on hour home PC.

Add warning stickers on your buildings.

And, report every attempt to break-in.

Also put a few NRA stickers on your windows!

Re: Transfer data by a FTP command or Remote FM

which format does the other application know? does it run on a database?

It might be worthwhile to connect SAP to that external database and transfer your data directly into a database table of that external system.
