You need an ABAP program or SQL commands to do this. There is no SAP standard program to do this.

Hi,

your workstation must be able to ping your SAP server where saprouter is installed.

Your SAP server must ping your CISCO.

From your CISCO, you must ping SAPSERV4.

Have a look at CATT (Computer-Aided test tools) It can automate such activities. This is included in R/3 and is not a third party product.

I don't think it will work. You need to schedule your backups with ADSM's own scheduler. This will start your backint which is connected to BRBACKUP and BRARCHIVE.

To check if SAP can connect to your database, try this:

R3trans -x

If you don't get error message, this means that SAP can connect to your DB. To start SAP, here's what to do

login as orabwp
type lsnrctl start

login as bwpadm
type startsap all

This has to be done manually.

good luck.

Another thing is check is SWAP space.

On unix level type:

swap -l

If you are on 64-bit, make sure you have 20GB swap space.

It may sound stupid, when you use startsap, you may get a message saying that SAP started ok, but this is not always true. 1st thing to do is to type ps -ef . Check if you see multiple instace of dw.sap running, if not, they probably dies a few secoinds after starting. Next, check your dev_w0 file. ...
