Re: Backup/Recovery of NW70 Java/ABAP System

You can just restore the binaries (at least for netweaver) and follow note 8307 to change the hostname for the abap bits.

Re: DB refresh on Netweaver 7.0 ABAP+JAVA system

you cannot backup/restore java stack, read the homogeneous system copy guide for java. This statement has always worried me. Does this mean that in a DR situation we cannot recover at all? I have moved an abap/java stack successfully using backup/filesystem restore and then using notes 8307 & 75769...

Re: "Enhancement Package Installation" Option Missing

The only real problem I had installing the enhancement package, was that the xml file wasn't created for the java stack.

I had to implement about 8 notes to finally get it working correctly (i also had to start a new maintenance optimizer transaction)

Re: Assigning Query Area to Roles in SQ10

Thanks for the replies. Fish, All queries are in standard areas in our Production system (no don't blame me - i just inherited it and can't get management to change it) and it was to those standard query areas that assignments were made. (I am actually testing in a full blown copy of our prod system...

Re: Stacking existing instances

Yeah it is our test systems.

Unfortunately due to workload, and the timeframe i've been asked to do it in (this weekend lol) I don't think I would be able to play around and get it done - specifically trying to sort out the oracle inventory etc.

Assigning Query Area to Roles in SQ10

Has anyone done this before. I have created some roles (empty) and using SQ10 have assigned a query area to each one. After I do this I can see that the role now contains the S_TCODE auth with a transaction like Y_SID_9nnnnnn. Yet when a user is given the role and go into transaction SQ00 it states ...

Re: Stacking existing instances

Thanks for that - I was afraid of that answer.

The system was upgraded at the beginning of the year - so I don't have install CD's, just upgrade CD's.

Guess I'll start downloading :-)

Thanks

Stacking existing instances

Hi All, Due to hardware limitations etc we are looking at starting to stack some of our SAP instances. We currently have an ECC 6 Test system and now want to put our existing CRM Test system onto the same server. I know I can do a full installation of CRM and then a database restore of the existing ...

Re: Could not kill the existing SAP User session

I already checked there is no connection from this user in gateway monitor SMGW & SM50 to cancel the process.
The OP States that there is nothing in SM50.

Re: Collect data from satellite system and send to sol man syst

In the satellite system run SDCCN and choose menu Goto --> Settings --> Task Specific At the bottom of the screen that displays is an option RFC Destinations - Settings. Execute that, put it into change mode, insert a new line and enter a description and the RFC destination of your solman system (ge...

Re: Stopping Portal Without R3 on Combined System

I never trust the stopsap j2ee - on at least 1/2 of our systems that will shutdown the abap stack as well! lol.

Re: solution manager update from 7 to 7.1

Snowy is correct - although for me I ran saint, chose the package and it prompted me to upgrade the kernel straight away.

I never ran with the new kernel, I continued saint as soon as the system was back up and running after the kernel upgrade.

Re: solution manager update from 7 to 7.1

Did this two weeks ago.

Download the Enhancement Package which is SP18 (I was on SP17 and also downloaded SP19 as well)

Kernel Upgrade to 7.01
Run SAINT (This took forever)
Apply JSPM Patches (was really quick).

Default Personisations?

HI,

In the CRM Web Interface a user can personalize the screens, dragging and dropping frames to change the display order etc.

Is there a way to do this as an administrator so that all users have the same personalisations - ie. consistent screens etc?

Thanks

Dave
