Re: Transports from OS to Production

Using the tp command from the O/S produces the exact same logs/table entries as using STMS.

You can test this by doing a tp addtobuffer from the command line. The transport will appear in the queue in STMS.

Re: How can I get rid of the popup entering dbacockpit?

Just an update. This problem doesn't happen with the 2 other basis team members here, just me.

The only difference is I am using SAPGUI 7.20. Would it be related to the gui?

Re: How can I get rid of the popup entering dbacockpit?

Thanks. It's one of those things that has been annoying me for ages - doing system checks on 20 odd systems the popup is very annoying everyday.

I'll keep looking for a way to stop it.

Re: Offline BRbackup does not stop SAP instance?

The SAP instance will stay up during an offline backup and continually try and reconnect.

You could create a script to shutdown sap, run the backup and startup sap.

Re: iDoc Issue Impacting SUIM Change Docs?

You can display IDOCs using transaction BD87

You will be looking at IDOC type USERCLONE.

You should be able to do this in the source and target systems.

How can I get rid of the popup entering dbacockpit?

Silly question but this has been bugging me.

Whenever I go into DBACOCKPIT, DB13, ST04 etc a popup with the documentation appears. I am sick of it. Is there a way to turn it off?

It is happening sometimes in ECC6, BW7 and all the time in PI 7.1

Thanks

Dave

Re: SAP GUI to CRM_UI Authentication

You should be able to setup SSO between them. That includes CRM ABAP - CRM Java, CRM ABAP - ERP ABAP etc.

There are many blogs etc on how to do this.

Re: SAP system not getting connected

Those /usr/sap/tmp errors are usually associated with the permissions of the saposcol executable not being correct. The s bit should be set (ie chmod 4755) and the owner should be root:sapsys. Not knowing what parameters you changed makes it hard to diagnose your issue. Copy the backup profiles over...

Re: Auto extend, or not...

I tend to turn off autoextend and look at the checkdb each day (also have SMS'es setup to alert me when free extents down to 2). With large datafiles (i'm talking GB's here - i have one that is 32GB on an inherited system) there is a slight performance hit. So I usually turn autoextend off and add 6...

That's what we do Snowy. Maybe I'm old school but I'm not aware of any other way to do it.

Re: STMS : Import queue sorted in descending order by default

list is sorted in the order in which transport were added to your system's buffer. I wish. That's the order it is in when I go into the queue. When I delete imported transports it is in a random order most of the time and drives me insane. If I leave STMS and go back in it is back in the correct or...
