Re: Ba$£&*ds

Umm..sensitive subject. But from being a chap that commutes 120 miles a day mostly motorway. I spend much more time looking for speed traps than I should. How many times have you slammed the brakes on thinking there's a trap? I don't drive stupidly. I have a family wagon and 3 kids. 80-90 is safe in...

Words of wisdom:

Igniting ones own "gas" isn't quite so funny if you're naked at the time.

Re: Any mechanically minded people out there?

Had to replace my turbo on the Zafira when it was 2 years old.
Bloody thing had gone past warranty milage though

I though engines cost less than what the turbo replacement cost. At least vauxhall kindly paid 50% for me as the car was so young.

Re: Any mechanically minded people out there?

Just thought I'd add what a "run-away" engine is incase you're tempted to drive it home. Short story, blown turbo = £700 + fitting Damage from run-away engine = new engine + fitting/ New car Long story; If the turbo has "blown" there's a 99% chance oil is leaking into the turbo. This oil can act as...

Re: Any mechanically minded people out there?

At a guess, Sounds like you've blown the turbo. If you wanna test it yourself, unhook the air intake from the air filter box ( be really bloody careful nothing goes down the tube!!!), get someone to start the engine, and rev it. It should act like a really powerful hoover (hose ain't long enough for...

You don't sound like a drinker, more like an alcoholic, to tell the truth.
Alcoholics don't drink Single Malt.

Whiskey connoisseur's drink Single Malt.

I dream of one day being able to call myself a connoisseur. It's been a long and hard path.

Re: A car insurance question...

You guys might want to look at the AA. They have an optional extra that helps cover the cost of parts and labour. Only covers upto £500 per incident, but you can claim several times a year (if you have a particularly unreliable car for example). Helps take the dent out of major stuff, and covers al...

Re: AA Cross Company Code Transfers

Hi Darkduck, Thanks for the reply. I've already checked if this was possible, but I didn't find an indicator for this check as you say. (Am I being particularly blonde here?) I only have the options for the relationship type in the Transfer variant, Affiliated or non affiliated. It doesn't matter if...
