I have a number of mandatory fields for the External Processing of Operations (PM02/PM03) and the Component Detail Purchasing Data (non stocks item category N). Both instances present popups for the mandatory fields ... Good Recipient, Requisitioner, Sort Field, Unloading Point). I can validate the ...

Re: Linking an external application with OLE2

As an FYI ... I am starting Excel from within the ABAP. Looks like an external logon and update then.

Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Linking an external application with OLE2

Thanks Rich ... close but no cigar. I realise that my overly terse request did not quite explain my requirement. Please see the following I have an ABAP running that talks to excel ... I can read excel data from my ABAP and show the updated data in my ALV in SAP. This is done 'on demand' by the user...

Linking an external application with OLE2

I have SAP talking to excel via OLE2 ... I can open the app, send data and read data back. The read data back bit is via the user instruction on the SAP side ... click a button and the ABAP interrorgates the app for changes to the data and posts them into SAP. Rather than do this in batch is it poss...

Work Order Print and Pick List layouts - Needed

Has anyone out there got a good work order print and pick list layout. I am on a new build and didn't copy any from previous projects so have to start from scratch here ... getting a bit lazy. Ideally the layout should be in a single font, legible, print the header information once and show clear li...

Re: Running a macro using OLE2 - resolved

Figured it out.

Had to get a handle to the application object and then was able to use the 'run' method.

I am trying to run a macro from within my ABAP but am having no success. I am using the same syntax as if I was calling the macro from another VBA program, could some please tell me if the syntax is correct. Call Method of objActiveProject 'Macro' exporting #1 = 'Module1.UpdateTask'. Thanks Mucho!

Re: Searching for task lists within a maintenance order

Thanks Pete, that helps alot. I had activated the UE but hand't noticed the additional menu option. I plan to 1. Prompt the user for input parameters 2. Provide a selection to the user of the task lists returned. 3. Copy the task lists into the work order via the RIHPLKO provided. I don't recall the...

Searching for task lists within a maintenance order

Has anyone out there managed to update SAP so that it provides better task list search options when in the work order. For example if I am overhauling a pump and I do not have an equipment specific task list then I would like to view other pump overhauls that are out there. Direct entry - doesn't wo...

Re: Tying existing equipment to materials (serial numbers)

Apologies again, further clarification ... 1. I have existing material numbers with balances they are not serialised and therefore not tied to equipment. 2. I have existing equipment numbers. 3. Serialisation is not currently being used. Therefore there is no existing link. 4. I would now like to sw...

Re: Tying existing equipment to materials (serial numbers)

Let me clarify .... 1. I have existing material numbers with balances and existing equipment numbers. 2. Serialisation is not currently being used. Therefore there is no existing link. 3. I would now like to switch on serialisation and link the existing materials to the existing equipments. Stewart

Re: Tying existing equipment to materials (serial numbers)

The link is not established yet. I am working at a site with existing data where there are three repairable pumps in the storehouse each with the same material number but different serial numbers. The serial number profile that was used does not generate equipments but I can change this for future r...
