Re: Then I saw the bus, now I'm a (non) believer

It's in the news now that some British MPs call to stop the ads. Now let's see what Western freedoms are worth.

In the meantime I picked one of Dawkins' books from my library. It's a good read.

Re: Wire Transfer

Call your US bank, get their SWIFT, then call your Czech bank. I wouldn't do this online - too confusing. I have an impression that over telephone, they have a special menu there where depending on the receiving country some other fields will open to enter the data.

Re: Then I saw the bus, now I'm a (non) believer

He who is not with me is against me... Always depends on the interpretation and on how much are you frightened by those against you and subsequently, how do you react. Yes, but isn't it interesting how violent people become, when they claim to represent a religion that esposes non-aggression / non-...

Re: Then I saw the bus, now I'm a (non) believer

BTW. I do realise that if the false heaven/hell deterrent was removed people might start behaving worse, but what do you do? I agree, but I remember being attacked by someone who had a crucifix hanging openly on his neck. The guy was even SO kind that during the fight he reminded me not to damage t...

Re: Then I saw the bus, now I'm a (non) believer

that's an idea, maybe us atheists need a fundamentalist wing like all the main religions have. I am not sure if I will be able to get the message across though. Sounds Stalinistic. Seriously, this bus would probably go down in flames in the southern US or in the midwest. It's silly, though, because...

Re: Bailout GM, Ford andChrysler in the USA?

There are Focus hatchbacks in North America too. Times are changing. I rented Toyota Matrix in September that you can't buy in Europe - it's a great car. But in Europe, you get hatchback version of Corolla (or whatever the name is today) instead. Back to Ford, European Ford Fusion is QUITE different...

But don't you normally get some DVD copying software with any PC or DVD drive? Sure that software may not be the best but it's not something you use every day. And what about Handbrake?

Re: Strange Christmas Observations

Iceland have quiet a good tradition where there are 13 santas and a different one appears on each day in the run up to Christmas and either leaves a present or a lump of coal (or whatever the modern inflationary equivalent is). They then spend the next 13 days, leaving one at a time (not sure if th...

Re: Strange Christmas Observations

In the province of Quebec, Schools are not allowed to display a Christmas tree. As a faithful atheist, I made some efforts to my son to attend a catholic school. They don't seem to have problems with Christmas trees there. But otherwise, after the initial festivities one week ago, Jesus seems to be...

I had heard this was a not so uncommon problem with Sony LCD TV's, but I bought the Sony anyway because I've always bought Sony and never had a problem with any electronic component. . Damn man I think my wife ordered the Sony today Are you guys aware that you have to pay "TV license" (or tax) in E...
