Re: Homogeneous System migration Issue

Please check for any "old server name" entries in all instance profiles.

Completely unrelated but please check Windows ARP cache. It has given me trouble once. Any host entries in etc/hosts pointing towards old server need to be checked.

Cheers

Re: Data archiving

Start collecting database performance records (before & during archiving).

After archiving project is completed, a database reorg is needed to get full benefits.

Then compare the performance (including backup runtime).

The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco

A movie starring Sean Connery is also made. I think, the book is more interesting.

Agencies are amongst the worst culprits of "do as I say, not as I do". (Trumped solely by politicians.....) They will invite you to submit a resume for a "Principle [sic] Consultant" - but bin it if there is the slightest grammatical error. But then, I guess if they have no principles they wouldn't...

I missed this.

Disk space is cheap. Couple of cents per GB. Okay, Enterprise class disk space may be expensive...what...one dollar or two dollar per GB? 200 GB disk space?

Re: Different languages

Please tell us if your system is Unicode, Single Code Page or MDMP?

Can you give us examples of what languages you would like to see on each instance?

Also, SAP Product and Version would be nice.

Best Regards,

from where do they get these exotic names?

I normally don't browse other forums (in nice words, a donkey). I just happened to glance at Education / Training / Certification forum and got a word --- Pentaho. I don't know what it does, but surely it sounds exotic. If you were to reinvent SAP "solution", what exotic name would you give? Cheers,...
