Re: Early lot Inspection for process order

Craig I know you have mentioned that one big process order per month is not a good thing can you expand on why I'm not that well versed in PO to know what shortfalls they may have doing this

Early lot Inspection for process order

OK here's the scenario. The plant creates a process order for each days production. During the production they produce 4 batches a day. What we would like to do is to have 4 seperate early inspections created (one for each new batch) I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to do this without having...

Re: multiple specifications

AIZ Also in the material task assignments tab for that line item assigned the object type customer, customer number If by this you mean you added the customer number to the same assignement?, then that is incorrect. You have to have one assignment for only plant and material and then a sperate assig...

Re: multiple specifications

Yes once you set up as MS you have to do everything in the workbench, assignments etc. Did you assign the plan to the plant where the inspection is taking place? You also have to make a seperate assignment for the same plant and customer, so essentially you have to make two assignments anytime you h...

Thanks guys I'll take a look at these. I don't have the full requirements from the business yet so I'mnot sure of the details.

Shelf life by country

I have a request from one of our businesses to manage shelf life of batches by country. It seems that some countries have tighter shelf life requirements than others. I don't see any standard way of doing this when a batch goes from one country to the next and the shelf life needs to be changed. Any...

Adding long text field to batch master

I am not a developer but wondered if anyone has done something along these lines before. In the batch master there is a short/long text field which the text is currently being used to output to certain reports etc. We have a requirement to add another short/long text field exactly like the standard ...

Re: VOC data on Quality certificates in chemical industries

As mentioned there are several ways to do it. One other way is to use the COA profile text depending on how you are assigning materials to the profiles that can work, along with the inspection text or QM in SD text.

Re: inspection specification

As Craig mentioned multiple specs are probably the way to go. It's a bit of a pain to set up since you have to also use the engineering workbench to make the assignments/set specs but it does work.

Shouldn't need any development.

Re: Is anyone using multiple specs in SAP

I was able to make this work with some insight from SAP. You can only use valuation mode 100 for these no others will work that is what SAP told me is standard behavior. You also can only use`single recording not summarized. i also had to make a change in the sampling procedure with the sample size....

Re: Measuring right the first time production

Craig right now from what I am hearing and I haven't seen any details is that they want to count only 04's and only if one insp point is created and exclude the rest but as you said any production guy worried about getting dinged on quality could start submitting then to the lab as manual 89 which t...

Re: Measuring right the first time production

Thanks John, we don't use single result recording for the most part so we'd have to make some changes in order to do it this way. I guess what I am concerned about is the way they are talking about measuring this. I'm not sure it's going to give them any meaningful information. What they want to do ...

Measuring right the first time production

Wondering if anyone is attempting to capture Right the First time metrics for manufacturing and if so how did they go about it. I work in the chemical process industry and the corporation would like to start measuring right the first time, production. There are proabaly many ways to do this but righ...
