Adobe Forms - Display / Change version mismatch

I've just started working with Adobe Forms... as long as you stay clear of the gateway services versions, the interface and context is quite similar to Smartforms. Livecycle Designer takes a while to get used to, but I've seen some really cool features that we would love to have in Smarforms :) Howe...

Re: Upload file for processing in background

Hmmm let's see... so the user would have a screen to be able to upload the file, after which I would have to trigger a background process that actually processes the file contents. The background job however is a separate process that doesn't have access to the local user's files. The selection scre...

Upload file for processing in background

The program works, we can upload an Excel workbook with multiple sheets, which gets converted to internal tables and then the data is processed (created, changed etc.). Awesome, so we're done! "Yeah well... when we upload 20.000 lines at once, the program ends up in a shortdump." -So don't do that! ...

Re: ABAP OO - Exit instance from method

Still not completely working as I would expect, can you help me out one more time? :) I've introduced an exception class (sub of cx_static_check), that can be used. In my add_log method I check whether the message was en error message and if so, RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE zcx_exception. Currently, that en...

Re: ABAP OO - Exit instance from method

Thanks for the quick reply! I've been playing around with exceptions, but keep ending up in a shortdump. As a quick test, I've created a class with three methods (1, 2 and 3). 1 calls 2, 2 calls 3 and 3 will raise an exception. For method 3, I've entered ERROR as an exception in the correct tab. Fro...

ABAP OO - Exit instance from method

I've written a class that handles functionality around files on disk. During the processing of a file, I write log records to an instance table in the object. When the log record contains an error, I would like to stop processing for this object. Problem I encounter here is that I can raise exceptio...

Re: ALV grid get current values from screen

Thanks! I have no idea why I didn't look at the table contents AFTER the check_changed_data method... indeed it is updated afterwards. So I can simply run my checks on overlapping periods afterwards :)

ALV grid get current values from screen

The main question: How to get the current values from screen into an internal table? (using cl_gui_alv_grid) What I've got on screen is an ALV grid that can be edited. Part of the table are two date fields to set the period for which the record is valid. When saving, I need to perform a check whethe...

Re: Select most recent record based on two columns

Thanks for the insight! The actual query is a bit longer, so I tried to simplify it to make the problem clear, might have missed the ID in the group by there. Or perhaps it worked because of the DISTINCT, which should group the ID anyway. I think you're right that using the subquery is the only way ...

Select most recent record based on two columns

In my mind, this has to be possible using a single query, without branching off into sub-queries. Please correct my mind if wrong :) I have a database table that contains testing scores. It consists of the following columns: COMPANY , ID , DATE , TIME , SCORE (bold = key) COMPANY is a given value. F...

Re: Virus scan profile /SCMS/KPRO_CREATE is not active

Aaaah ok so it could be a different problem altogether, just this message is overruling it. Tricky indeed. I was just piecing together bits of information I was able to find on this message... and everyone seemed to be convinced the problem was in the 'new' virus scanning process. Already found it w...

Virus scan profile /SCMS/KPRO_CREATE is not active

We've recently upgraded one of our systems and are now randomly confronted with the error message: "Virus scan profile /SCMS/KPRO_CREATE is not active" This is now part of functions that handle files (GUI_UPLOAD, GUI_DOWNLOAD, cl_gui_frontend_services) and doesn't make any sense. In various posts it...

Characteristic dependency

Yesterday a colleague asked me whether is was possible to do the following: Whenever a material is being created in MM41, add a new display only field to the overview that contains the 'supplier type' from the material supplier. Of course I could go wild on custom coding, but perhaps there is a stan...

[Retail] WPUUMS idoc price condition

At my current customer they have designed a process for POS idoc processing which differs from standard SAP. This has to do with the way they pay suppliers for consignment stock. As a result, the prices used by default SAP in related documents is not correct. The price they want to use in the docume...

Re: VA01 Partner function custom search help

I'll give it a go, perhaps the customer will accept this option. Would save us a lot of trouble :) Thanks again! Update: I'm able to add the elementary search to the collective one and select my custom personnel number. But then the next problem introduces itself: SAP does not accept this number as ...
