Archiving Inspection Results RUECKMELNR

Dear Fellow QMers, My current client is running out of characteristic confirmation numbers (QAMV-RUECKMELNR). The SAP answer is to archive. However we use about 120,000,000 confirmation numbers a year. Since RUECKMELNR only allows 100,000,000 entries it will require us to archive 9 month old data wh...

Batch Determination and < > Results (ATCOD)

Dear All, Could someone kindly confirm standard SAP batch determination behaviour handling of results with < > symbols. My client's system has been customized and cannot be used to identify standard SAP behavior. If any portion of the result overlaps any portion of the specification - the result pas...

Result Attribute ≤ ≥ Valuation

Dear Experts, I was wondering if anyone could verify the way standard SAP valuates (MBEWERTG) results that have a ≤ or ≥ attribute (ATTRIBUT). There have been enhancements in my client's current system so I don't have confidence in its behavior vs standard. Our system seems to ingnore the results' ≤...

Re: Certificate of Compliance

I've had the most luck using a delivery output type\condition records for COC's. The SAP certificate program must retrieve at least one result to generate an output. If you have characteristics consider the profile\certificate approach. No characteristics\profile consider the delivery output approach.

Re: Results Recording In Sequence

Hi Craig, Thanks for the idea... It seems to work great if I just have two characteristics - but not more. What I found is a dependent characteristics cannot reference other dependent characteristics. Example: Char 10...Char 20 dependent (this will default to depend on char 10), .... Char 30 depende...

Re: QI Stock

One of the key aspects of QI stock is you can set up an planned inspection end date. MRP can then schedule around the planned completion date of the lot (when it is expected to get out of Q). You also cannot consume the Q stock into production orders/deliveries.

Results Recording In Sequence

Hello Gurus, Is there any way to systematically force several results to be recorded in sequence? (e.g. there are five accept/reject characteristics, need to force the user to record the first characteristic, only then can the user access the second characteristic, only after completing the second, ...

Re: Inspection lot/Q-stock despite Insp. Skip for Cert. Vendors

Hi Bart,

Some ideas...

-What is the QM system valid to date in the vendor master (field next to the actual QM system).
-You aren't using material revision levels, are you?

Re: Skip lots, modifcation rule and quality level

Hey Vic,

In QDR2 you can set when the quality level is updated. Sounds like you have "at usage decision" set but you want "at lot creation".

Skip Lots (SKIP) and Required Certs (CTCM)

Hello All, I have DMR's that trigger skip lots (inspection lots with system Status SKIP). For those same materials, when they aren't skipped, business requirement is that enhanced certificate tracking must occur (system status = CTCM cert conf missing). Problem is I get inspection lots with status S...

Re: Enter defects on original notification RMA -flow

Hi Bouwina, Defects are line items in a notification. In configuration Inspection Lot Creation \ Maintain Inspection Types... There is a flag to set to make a one notification per one inspection lot relationship. Be sure this is properly set. Also consider using transaction QM02 (change notification...

How Not to Transfer Results to Batch for an Inspection Point

Hello All, I have multiple inspection points – each with a full set of results. The business would like to ‘arbitrarily’ select one of the inspection points to have its results transferred to the batch. The results of the other inspection points should never transfer to the batch (not even tem...

Re: Quality Notification

Hey SUD, I think you can configure the tasks to link to a department (or some other HR organizational structure) instead of a user ID. In HR master data you can link multiple user ID's to the department and treat is as an email list. If you use workflow all of those users would get an email - but on...
