Re: Creating Secondary Index

Yes. SAP sometimes seem to use this option to create indexes in the DDic that aren't active in the database. I guess they do this to give the customer the option of whether to activate the index or not. I can't see any point in using this option for custom table indexes.

Re: CJ20N

Is this a modification to the SAP standard screen or an exit? Whichever it is, the screen knows whether it is in display or change mode - it probably sets a global variable to indicate this - and you need to find out how it knows and do the same checks in your code. If you've got ECC6 and the new de...

Re: What do you think about Enhancements ?

I've created a few implicit enhancements in our new SRM system to replace the original mods to SAP standard code and found them fairly easy to use and effective - and of course much better than changing the SAP standard. However, before you can create an enhancement implementation you have to find o...

Re: How Can I reconstruct the SQL

Everything you're using in your query including the COUNT, MAX, GROUP BY and HAVING can also be used in ABAP Open SQL, so a few minor changes should be sufficient to convert the code to Open SQL. At least this is the case in our 4.7 system; every upgrade seems to have added added extra functionality...

Re: Profit center for an accounting document

Of course creating an new index on a SAP standard table will have an effect on the system, especially when you do it on a major table such as BSIS. It will increase the time taken to update the table, since every time this happens the system has to maintain your new index as well as the table and th...

Re: Empty Field on ALV

Are you setting the IS_LAYOUT-COLWIDTH_OPTIMIZE parameter to 'X'? If so, the ALV will adjust each column output widths to what it thinks is a suitable width based on the data it needs to display.

Re: What else can be used otherthen '&IC1'

&IC1 is the function code for double click and so there is nothing else you can check if you want to react to a double click. The way this is usually done if you have multiple ALV screens is (in my experience) to have two user command subroutines, the first called from your first ALV call, the secon...

Re: PO release date and PO total amount

I'm not sure that there is an easy way to get either. To get the total amount you'll have to add up the EKPO line amounts. I don't think the release date is held on the order; you may have to go the the header change history or the workflow to get that.

Re: MM BAPI Commit - Lock Issues

Try using SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL - look it up in the SAP help. This helped me with the locking problems I had when using BAPIs to update POs.

Re: Extending secondary index...consequences

I should be very surprised if extending a custom index in this way caused you any problems. The index will, of course, be larger because of the two extra columns and I've got a vague memory that using the full index is supposed to be a bit more efficient than using only the first two columns, but I ...

Re: How ABAP can help to force PO Final Entry?

So why not just set the EKPO-ELIKZ Delivery Complete flag on the order line, as suggested by ssii? Depending on how the order type has been configured this flag can be changed in ME22N. And setting it will set the remaining delivery amount on the order line to 0 in ME2N.

Read the documentation again paying special attention to GET CURSOR and SET CURSOR. Or search this forum using those keywords.

Re: ***SEARCH NOT WORKING - POST HERE***

I'm getting used to the new format, but I agree with the previous post that it is a bit 'cold' - a subjective response no doubt. We've found the new search a bit confusing too. At first it seemed to bring back hardly anything, but it seems to be better now so I guess someone's fixed something. There...

Re: How ABAP can help to force PO Final Entry?

If your system does not allow you to enter a 0 quantity via the screens, then you're not going to be able to do it via a recording which presumably would use the same screens - the same checks will kick in. If doing something like this is essential, there is always the possibility of doing a mod to ...
