If it happens often across all your systems, I have to think that your shutdown procedures are in error.
Yes, can happen specially with some UPS ... I guess you also don't have any HA or clustering on your Production system?

To add:

As you might be aware and as implied here the default path is on /usr/sap/trans/bin or \usr\sap\trans\bin (whatever). You also might be aware that you can change this by chaning the parameters for the transports on the instance profile and on the tp profile ...

So let me get this straight, the target server you put on the SM36 entry is the name of your central instance? Can you then give me the detail status of the server on RZ03?

Hi clientman, Just like what Jo implied, can you verify if it's a custom program or a SAP standard program. If it's a SAP program, can you tell us what's the program and transaction that you used? (It is possible that the report needs to be regenerated with the new entries from the tables that your ...

Now, I'm not conversant with HP-UX and it's underlying hardware. However, my experience with SunOS, AIX and Tru64 shows rebooting is only necessary when new OS kernel patches are applied or somesuch stuff. Memory fragmentation and system performance degradation due to long running? No Sire! Same is...
