Re: What are the other popular SAP Forums?

I had noticed, after being away from SAPFANS for a couple of years due to workload, how so much less is being posted in SAP Security etc. It's a real shame as it used to be interesting following the threads. I tried SAPTECHIES for a day or so recently but the questions being asked there were too fun...

Re: What do you do during 'bench time'

Hi Dr Sidewalk Thanks for the advice - appreciated, I'm self employed - never worked in a consultancy which may be an issue sometimes :-) Keeping my hand in by reading up on GRC implementation, trying to understand IdM (too techie for me methinks!) and other bits and bobs, have access to a private E...

Compliant user provisioning

But I think I prefer your idea!

Re: Oh great...

Hi I think I know what you mean about a bad project - the last one nearly finished me off doing 12-14 hour days for over 2 years and it still ran over budget and time :-( "Oh, we just need this doing as well when you are remediating" "Oh, CUP is going to need this too" "Oh, can we do custom codes?"....

Re: New to GRC (Enable / Disable questions)

Hi You need access to run detail and summary level reports instead of management reports. The delivered ruleset can be customised - you can also create client specific local rulesets if you have multiple sap systems and they contain custom codes. Run user level by user group if they are already corr...

Re: SAP Upgrade 4.7 --> ECC 5.0 (security roles broken)

Hi

Do you have some examples of 'roles that have broken' for you in your upgrade or is this a hypothetical exercise?

Re: New to GRC (Enable / Disable questions)

Hi Your supplied ruleset will need some verification over your remediation project. There are management reports which will give the overall view but you need to run security reports and extract (XML if on 5.3) and the easiest way to view is to then convert to pivot tables filtered by risk I'D. Don'...

Re: Authorization issue: error of display BOM

Hi Have you already done the basic things such as an SU53 after the user reports the issue or a trace on the user whilst running the transaction code from the beginning? Either of those should flag a problem but, maybe assigning full authorisations (not SAP_ALL) to a test user in your QA cleint to r...

Re: worst interviewing experiences?

Bad timing... I once had a telephone interview for a security contract but we were touring the Guiness Factory in Dublin when they rang :-( Ever try to take a call on your mobile in there? It doesn't work and neither the interviewer (English not their first language) or I could manage to understand ...

Re: worst interviewing experiences?

Hi

I suppose having two cv's infront of you both identical in content applying for a security role but with different names has to be in there somewhere? We didn't interview either of them.

Re: What do you do during 'bench time'

I hang (better word than bend) my head in shame  I've been 'doing up' an old boat over the last 4 months and one part was restoring the 240v/tv reception which drew me to this evil program. I agree - all of your other options are way superior to my watching Noel and the Pilgrims but I just fou...

What do you do during 'bench time'

Well - been on the bench for a while since I left my last gainful employment... Unfortunately I'm now hooked on Deal or no deal with Noel and his evil banker side-kick If you are outside of the UK you are very very lucky not to have this satan's tool twice a day :( Dear God I'm so sorry for any wron...

Perseid meteor shower - UK

From the BBC website: They came from the direction of Perseus, the constellation - this constellation is in the north, below the constellation Cassiopeia. So if you look in the northern direction you'll see a 'W' shape of stars and that's the constellation of Cassiopeia, and that's where they will e...

Re: Activity type for auth obj F_BKPF_BLA document type

Hi Run a filtered trace on a test user with almost SAP_ALL in your QA environment and be very precise on the steps that the tester carries out to process the doc but don't let them run away with a 'ooh we might just do this' scenario. Once you have that then do a UAT and check all is as expected, on...
